Scratch Examples

I am currently working on learning to use Scratch. Here is a starter example where I am working out code and trying to see how I can incorporate my own artwork into an interactive animation.

My final project is an interactive digital interpretation of a self portrait. Where I use letters as a medium to allow viewers to discover who I am and how I became interested in the arts. These nine letters in the scratch “game” are just a few of many letters and cards from Letters to Myself, Letters of an Artist.

here’s the link, enjoy.

Letters to Myself, Letters of an Artist

Working with scratch was simple to start with. I felt like there are a lot of examples to create some interactive games. The more difficult part was really knowing what types of things you can tell the program to do, without it interfering with another sprite. I really struggled in class when I was trying to create my final piece. After, taking a break and getting back into it with a more simplified idea, I was able to create this program. The one thing I found very frustrating was the poor quality of my images. They were fine on my screen, but after importing them they had a lot poorer quality.
